In Bogota there are more than one millon vehicles on the
streets. To reduce traffic congestion, there is a vehicle
restriction rule called 'pico
y placa', it applies to all vehicles, public and
private.
Pico y Placa means that you can not drive your car certain
days of the week, according to your car plate last number.

the schedule will run from 6:00 a,m, until 8:00 p.m.
It will be run two years between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m

This restrictions apply to private cars only
The 4 digits group will be
move to the following day.
It means that the plates that had the 4 digits restricted
on monday will be restricted on tuesday, and tuesday
will be on wednesday etc.
The pico y placa for public vehicles and the ambiental ones nothing will change
Tickets =248.500 pesos and your card will be out of circulation, if you do not obey the
Pico y Placa law.

The daily schedule for Pico y Placa it applies only from
6:00 a 9:00 am and from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
In the city there are also strict rules that have to be
respected as the parking in non authorized places from Sunday
to Sunday
Bogota's public transport is operated with buses, busetas,
colectivos, taxis and the latest addition the Transmilenio
(see above). These vehicles, perhaps 15,000 of them altogether,
have all kind of shapes and sizes. Some are very old and
some are very comfortable and modern. That is why there
are different prices for each type.
In Bogota there are practically no bus stops, so you have
to flag down a bus wherever you are and the bus or buseta
will pick you up right there. But nowadays on some congested
streets they are implementing bus stops, so the system is
more efficient. The buses and busetas run throughout the
length and the breadth of the city at a very scary speed,
if traffic allows.

Y PLACA EN BOGOTÁ 2009-2010
En Bogotá se movilizan diaramente
más de un millon de vehículos. Actualmente
funciona la medida de restricción vehicular de 'pico
y placa', opera tanto para transporte público como
particular, tenga en cuenta los turnos por número
de placa, evite multas y la inmovilización del vehículo.

La Secretaría de Movilidad informó que durante la primera semana, es decir, del primero al ocho de julio 2009, se aplicarán sanciones pedagógicas.

Se inmovilizará el vehículo y la infración será de 248.500

únicamente para vehículos particulares
Para evitar confusiones,
la rotación es simple: el grupo de cuatro
dígitos se trasladará el día
siguiente. Es decir, los que tenían restricción
los lunes pasan al martes, los que tenían
el martes al miércoles y así sucesivamente.
- Se mantiene la restricción para vehículos de transporte público colectivo entre las 9 a.m. y las 5 p.m. - La restricción para taxis sigue igual: 5 a.m. a 9 p.m. -No habrá restricción los sábados para carros particulares.

El transporte público de Bogotá se compone
sólo de buses, busetas, taxis, y la nueva adquisición
el TransMilenio (ver arriba) que, en conjunto, son más
de 15.000. Estos vehículos son de diferentes modelos
y épocas; los más modernos son muy cómodos
y hay que pagar un precio más alto. En Bogotá,
se podría decir que no existen casi los paraderos
de buses, pero ahora los están implementando más
rigurosamente, especialmente en las calles principales más
congestionadas, para
que el sistema sea más eficaz. Hoy en día,
el paradero es donde el l peatón esté, sólo
hay que levantar la mano y el vehículo se detiene.
Los buses y las busetas van a todo lo largo y ancho de la
ciudad,
van siempre en carreras, pero debido al fuerte tráfico
, afortunadamente esto poco se ve.
